The 2012 UWWC grants have been reviewed and work is underway at our Community Impact Partner Orgainzations.

Our process begins with community agencies filling out a request for proposals that are reviewed by our Community Impact  Investment Teams.  These review teams are made up of UWWC donors representing  Cargill Eddyville, Cargill Ottumwa, John Deere Ottumwa Works, Indian Hills Community College, Wells Fargo Bank, Principal Financial Group, Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, and local residents.

The Community Impact Investment teams put in more than 40 hours of volunteer time reading and scoring the grants, meeting in small groups, participating in a presentation day, and presenting their recommendation to the UWWC Board of Directors.  They are vital to our grants process.  They help us to evaluate our programs and assist UWWC in fulfilling our mission.

We are excited to report that our orgainzations continue to bring valuable programs which are focused on helping children and youth achieve their potential through education, helping families become financially stable and independent, and improving people’s health.

United Way of Wapello County awarded $386,242 to 22 programs in our community.
