Each year, United Way of Wapello County invests in programs that strengthen our community and improve lives. Community Impact Grants provide funding to local nonprofits and organizations working in the areas of health, education, and financial stability—because when we work together, we create lasting change.

What These Grants Are

Community Impact Grants are made possible by local donors who believe in building a stronger Wapello County.

Every dollar raised stays local + is strategically invested in programs that:

  • Improve access to education and early childhood development

  • Support physical and mental health

  • Strengthen financial stability for individuals and families

  • Address urgent and emerging community needs

We fund programs that demonstrate measurable outcomes, strong partnerships, and a clear commitment to making a difference right here in our community.

Who Can Apply

Eligible applicants include:

  • 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations

  • Schools and educational institutions

  • Government entities

  • Faith-based and community organizations offering inclusive services

Programs must serve residents of Wapello County and align with at least one of United Way’s impact areas: Health, Education, or Financial Stability.

What We’re Looking For

We prioritize programs that:

  • Address a clearly defined community need

  • Demonstrate measurable impact and outcomes

  • Collaborate with other local organizations

  • Use funding efficiently and responsibly

  • Promote equity and access for underserved populations

Funding Details

  • Grants support programs for the upcoming fiscal year (July 2026 - June 2027)

  • Funding amounts vary based on program scope and available resources

  • Both new and returning programs are encouraged to apply
