RSVP - Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (55+)

Serve with Purpose. Stay Connected.

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Wapello, Jefferson, and Monroe Counties connects adults 55 and better with meaningful volunteer opportunities that match their skills, interests, and availability.

Whether you're looking to stay active, give back to your community, or share a lifetime of experience, RSVP makes it easy to make a difference—on your schedule and in ways that matter.

From mentoring youth to supporting food pantries, delivering meals, helping local non-profits, and more, you’ll be part of a powerful network of neighbors serving neighbors.

  • Through United Way of Wapello County sponsorship, and AmeriCorps Seniors' RSVP network, adults age 55+ can contribute their time in flexible, skill-matched ways—ranging from tutoring and tech help to companionship and community projects.

Volunteers receive orientation, training, and supplemental insurance, and may serve up to 40 hours per week depending on the role.
