Summer Food Program

American Home Finding Association is hosting the Summer Food Service Program at OHS starting June 15. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at the sites and times as follows:

    National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive 2015

    Saturday, May 9, 2015, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will collect food donations in order to provide assistance to millions of Americans who are struggling with hunger. Celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year, the Stamp out Hunger food drive is the nation’s largest single-day food drive having collected more than one billion pounds of food since its inception as a national food drive in 1993.

    Ottumwa to host Regional Nonprofit Summit

    In January of 2015, a collaborative was formed which included the Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation, Iowa State University Extension, United Way of Wapello County and Wapello County Foundation. This group came together to discuss ways that they could assist in providing education, training and resources to the nonprofit sector. The idea to develop the Nonprofit Summit was embraced to accomplish these goals.

    SIEDA Coat Drive

    From October 20th - November 30th, C1st will be collecting coats, hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves of all sizes (infant through adult) for those in need. With cold weather approaching, now is a great time to clean out the closets and donate those coats that are too small or won't be worn anymore.
